Spring 2012
This simple project takes Leon Krier’s facade from the Strada Novissima exhibition at the 1980 Venice Biennale and re-interprets it in light of his work since that date, offering a Casa Serenissima, where the sobriety and radicalism of his youth are replaced with optimism and even whimsy. More than a stylistic shift, this new facade is really the re-presentation of an often misunderstood polemic, where modernity is garbed in history’s ‘serenity’.
